To keep your purchase in the same condition we suggest rubbing it with lindseed oil (available from your local hardware store) at least once every 6 months.
If you intend to have this outside you will need to apply lindseed oil on a more regular basis. This will ensure the wood keeps its deep colour and should also help prevent the wood from splitting. DO NOT PLACE IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT AS THIS WILL DRY THE WOOD OUT AND WILL LEAD TO CRACKS APPEARING.
